This summer, Eldon and Jason are going on a high adventure to Lake Roosevelt (I think). They will be kayaking in homemade kayaks. The building process is taking up just about every Young Men's activity and lots of Saturdays as well. Eldon's kayak is far enough along that he can put on the finishing touches at home. Today, he took advantage of the gorgeous sunshine to work outside, and was working on converting an Adirondack chair he made in shop class last year into the seat of his kayak.
Can you believe that just 4 hours after this picture was taken, we had rain, hail, and SNOW falling, all to the tune of thunder?? Spring in the Northwest!

They are MAKING their own kayaks? I guess the threat of spending high-adventure in a leaky boat is a good incentive for quality workmanship.
