There are some days--like today--when just one picture isn't enough. Tonight was the final band concert ever for both Eldon and Jason (who, for a variety of reasons, has decided not to take band next year).
Jason's group was first of the three concert bands. I thought they did extremely well! I didn't get any photos of them in action (I was videoing), but I like this one of Jason popping his head up during warmups.
As is tradition, the seniors dressed down for their final concert. Eldon was uber casual in his shorts, BYU sweatshirt, and sunglasses perched jauntily on his head.
For the final number of the night, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble combined to play a medley of songs from Star Wars. Some of the seniors dressed up and did an interpretive skit of sorts to the music. I have NEVER laughed so hard at a band concert before. Eldon totally rocked the Princess Leia look.
(Lucky for Will Davis, aka Han Solo, the kissing scene between Han and Leia was scrubbed from the script.)
Eldon said that the Star Wars piece was the highlight of his 4 years in band. It was certainly the highlight of 4 years of band concerts for me!
