At our traditional Sunday night birthday gathering, Rob's sister Pam brought her famous German Chocolate Cake. It is made of awesome (and a double batch of frosting).
That looks like heaven! I think it is ironic that this fabulous frosting is called "German", as I have never had a frosting here that even compares to it. German cakes are dry, crumbly, and not very sweet. All the native Germans that I know rave about American cakes - and with good reason. Even American cakes from a mix are far, far superior to German cakes.
