Tonight I got together with 3 of my school friends (from left to right), art teacher Candice, attendance secretary Loma, (me), and student store manager Kandi to make gingerbread houses at Kandi's house. Kandi is seriously into gingerbread houses. She hosts decorating parties all season long. This year, she said she's gone through 50 POUNDS of powdered sugar for all the royal icing she's made. She had the houses all assembled for us when we arrived so all we had to do was decorate them. It was SO MUCH FUN! We giggled and laughed and "stole" each other's decorating ideas. Candice, Loma, and Kandi had a glass of wine, and I had a diet Coke. I was very good and didn't eat even so much as one piece of candy.
We all agreed we have to do this together again next year. A Christmas tradition is born!
(Apologies to Kandi on the eyes-closed picture. Her hubby snapped the shot for me and I didn't check the picture after he took it because my fingers were all frosting-y.)

There is something so right about a person named Kandi who is really into gingerbread houses. This looks delightful!
