Tonight was the Young Men/Young Women Halloween party. For the past week or so, Jason has been galloping around the house with these coconut halves.** I joked that he should be King Arthur for Halloween. We looked online for a costume and found this one. In the course of our joking and brainstorming, we came up with the idea that if Jason was going to be Arthur, King of the Britains (by virtue of some watery tart lobbing a scimitar at him), then he needed a proper steed to follow behind him and clop the coconut shells. Palmer, a fellow Monty Python & the Holy Grail fan, was only too happy to oblige. And, thus a first-prize-winning partnership was formed!
(**Backstory: when Rob turned 37--not saying how long ago--we had an "Old Woman" party where everyone came as their favorite Monty Python character. "Old Woman" came from the sketch in Monty Python and the Holy Grail where Arthur rides up to a peasant in the field, and calls him "Old Woman." "Man," says the peasant.
"Old Man," says Arthur.
"I'm not old," says the peasant, I'm thirty-seven.
It was one of the best birthday parties ever.)
