Today we went to Hoover Dam to see the new bridge that crosses the river. We tried to go in the morning "before it got too hot." (I think we should have tried to be there around 3 a.m.) It was quite a haul up some stairs to get to this point. Jason raced up them much too quickly, and when he got to the top, he felt queasy from the heat, and barfed over the side of the bridge (onto the rocks, not the road below, thankfully). He learned his lesson about heatstroke and moved at a much slower pace and drank plenty of water from then on out. The view from the bridge was spectacular, and the view of the bridge from the dam was equally impressive. Definitely worth the trip, even though it was insanely hot. We cooled off at A&W in Boulder City afterward--root beer freezes--YUM!
