After leaving Eldon at his dorm room yesterday, we went to Rob's brother Cliff & Gail's new house. And by "new" I mean Gail had only been there since Saturday. We had hoped to stay with them, but their beds and other furniture had not yet arrived from Oregon. Plan B was to stay with our niece Michele and her hubby Kory, but they had recently had water damage in the basement (where their guestroom is) and their air conditioning was broken. Upon realizing that (once again) our accommodations were not going to be available, we weighed our options, decided to skip out on parent orientation, and head for home. I was disappointed to not have time to see friends or just mess around in Utah for a while, but Jason was already "bored" (despite having a cute baby cousin to goo-goo at), and we just felt like it was best (I do think it was easier for me to cut the apron strings by not hanging around Utah Valley for 5 extra days). So, even though this is not the greatest picture, it does represent what we did all day long: Drive. We got home around 10:30 p.m.

The best part of this photo is the "scenery" visible thru the windshield. 99% of driving cross country is just plain boring!
